Dr Peter Ketyenya, CEC for Trade, Industrialization, Cooperatives and Tourism, today officiated the opening of the Federation of Kenya employers (FKE) Nakuru branch.
On behalf of H.E the Governor, Hon Lee Kinyanjui, Dr Ketyenya thanked FKE for their good work and opening a Branch in Nakuru.
FKE brings together over 3000 formal employers in Kenya of all sizes and different sectors of our economy. Rift valley region has over 270 employers which is a substantial number contributing to economic growth of the County an Country at large.
Dr Ketyenya ,said that the County Government of Nakuru is working hard to enhance collaboration with FKE and other stakeholders.
He said the County aims to create an enabling environment for investors which will enhance productivity and accelerate growth for the county.
He added that as a result of this initiatives taken by the County, more investors are setting up their businesses in Nakuru County, with Daima Milk being the latest entrant with their milk processing plant which is almost complete.
Other notable investments in Nakuru County include; The Oserian Industrial park in Naivasha, Agro City park at Egerton University and the Inland Dry Port in Naivasha.
He confirmed that more job opportunities will be created and value chain of products will be enhanced when more investors invest in Nakuru county. This is line with President’s Big Four Agenda.
Furthermore Dr Ketyenya ,reiterated that the County Government will work together with FKE to equip young people with the right skills for the current and future needs of the labour market.
Dr Ketyenya, welcomed more investors to choose Nakuru County since its the hub of investment,trade and tourism.
Also present at the event were Mrs Jacqueline Mugo (FKE Executive Director) ,Mr Abisai Ambenge (Regional Manager) and Dr.Tom Serem (Branch Chairman)
